Thanks again, Copenhagen

As usual we have had a lovely 4-nights stayover in Denmark´s capital, Copenhagen. Sitting in front of Hviid´s Vinstue with a Red Tuborg the blog editor seems feeling relaxed. Leaving Oslo at 5 am by car, arriving the hotel before 11 am gives us a day extra with shopping, eating etc., strolling and experience new sides of Copenhagen every time we visit the Queen´s town. The view from our executive floor balcony facing the cinema building Palads and Cirkus with the Town Hall Tower to the right and other spires in the background. One of them Rundetårn (the Round Tower) from 1642 during Christian 4th´s reign. Chr.4th had a strong influence of transforming Norway and the city Christiania (now Oslo) from a peasant culture to an urban citizenship through Laws and Regulations. He is the founder of our modern capital, and still many areas in Oslo are like the king ordered. In Copenhagen the king founded Christianshavn as part of his fortification of Copenhagen. The artificial islands are inspired by Dutch cities and dominated by canals.
The canal above is leading towards "Gammel Strand", an area with restaurants and outdoor activities in summertime.
Copenhagen new Opera and the new Royal Theatre can best be seen from one of the sightseeing boats located at Nyhavn.
Due to the fact that we spent these few days in Danmark together with my sister and my brother-in-law, we added an extra trip to Nord-Sjæland. Zealand is Denmark´s largest island, and we used the old "Strandveien" (Beach road) along Øresund towards Helsingør (immortalised as Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet) and Kronborg Castle.
