A Quick Stroll through Scott Antique Market

We went to Scott's yesterday and found a great table for our client's new kitchen. The prices on so many items - from table to chairs to lamps seemed really great. A sampling of things that caught our eyes...

We love this gray wicker. Gray wicker is hot right now. See this post from Cote de Texas. The chairs come in several different styles and are from $150-$200 each. At online stores they are $500 plus and at higher end stores they are $1000 plus. If you need wicker chairs, go out there and grab some of these (in the South building).

We also saw a pair of these great chairs -

and these

This bench was very pretty.

Wonderful bamboo nesting tables.

From the same dealer who sells the gray wicker, these cool lamps...
and a gray wicker basket.

We got through both buildings in under 3 hours - I'm counting that as exercise.

Have a great weekend, and if you're in town this weekend go to Scott Antique Market - there are lots of deals!

The rest of the story

Here are the remaining photos from my Friday Field Trip to Scott's. The cane sided stool to the right was $250. It has great lines. (I love caning!)

Below is an interesting quatrefoil architectural accent (Limestone and Boxwoods and Things That Inspire, this is for you)

Decorative wooden pieces

I saved the best for last. The dealer, Blue Rose Antiques in Dallas, GA (christysolomon@mindspring.com)told me she used to have five of these zany chairs - this is the only one left. $1250

Check out this zebra chair - front and back!

Field Trip Report - Treasure Hunter

Let me begin with the fact that I have an awful cold and am really foggy, so the photos from my field trip are a little off. My camera on my phone is so much better than my old one though - so at least we have that. I love a good field trip and decided not to let being sick stop me.

So, of course I went to Scott's at the Atlanta Expo - it's the second weekend of the month after all. I hit all of my favorite dealers and strolled the entire South building. Skipped the North building since I felt crummy. One of my favorite things about being a designer is the treasure hunt part. Roaming around looking for the "perfect thing for that one spot" is heaven to me.

Here are the treasures I spotted today - with prices listed (if I can remember them). Those lovely stools above are $850 for the pair and are at the first booth you see when you walk in the far left door of the South building.

Pillows are $75 each - great price! Love the bench, great at the foot of a bed, but no one was there to tell me the price.

Double caned bergere - $275

Italian pottery from Wild Olive Company

Can you tell I was tired here? I cut off the top of the chairs!

These are great chairs and are $500 for the pair, at the Antiques and Decorative Things booth.

The best news of the day is that I scored a great buy, which I am working on rehabilitating and will blog about that when it is finished.

Will post a few more pictures later, going to rest now.

More from Scott's...

I'm glad we went to Scott's yesterday, because this is what Atlanta looks like today!

I am crazy about Florentine painted things - there's a booth in the back that always has an amazing selection of boxes, lamps, waste baskets, trays, mirrors etc.

These Florentine, solid wood, painted pineapple lamps were even more beautiful in person

I would cover this pair of chairs in deep orange linen (we just recovered a wing chair for a client in the perfect shade of orange with brown piping). I can think of a million great places to use these chairs - next to a fireplace, in a study, on either side of a window, in an entrance hall on either side of a console...

How beautiful is this Italian settee?

Pretty and comfortable bergeres!

Finally, I like the lines of these twin head and foot boards - very versatile and were so reasonably priced!

Enjoy the weekend!

Field trip to Scott Antique Market

We braved the possible snow this morning and ventured out to Scott's at the Expo Center. There were still some interesting finds even though the best was probably all scooped up yesterday.

Here's a look at what I saw that looked good:

Some great doors for architectural interest in a high ceiling room

Lots of wonderful French furniture

Chairs

Tables (great for bedside)

I would like to see these lacquered and covered in a fretwork fabric

fabric from HomeDecoratingCompany is Chippendale Fretwork in Onyx by Waverly

More finds from Scott's posted tomorrow!
